Linda Stroud was the first member in her family to attend college. Neither of her parents graduated from high school, both had a 10th grade education. For Linda Stroud, college was not an option while growing up. After being married at 21 and having her first child at 22, she decided she wanted to try college. She enrolled in her first college class, a child development class at Long Beach City College. After 20 years of working with children, attending college as a part-time student, and raising six children, she completed her education. Linda is currently an associate professor of child development at Pasadena City College.
